The Centaflex coupling allows for a small amount of angular misalignment capacity up to 2° and tortsional flexibility up to 15°. It Interupts shaft-transmitted noise and vibration between engine and hull, the large volume, highly elastic encased element absorbs shocks and stress without excessive deformation and the design allows the transfer of propeller thrust to the gearbox (does not require thrust bearing).
